Hope Point

God put us at the most precious church during our time in SC. We made some truly wonderful friendships as well as using a relationship there to save our twins' lives. Here is literally just a snapshot of some of the special people God brought to us there.

We miss you and we hope some of you will make it across the world to see us soon!

See You at Our House

It hits at the weirdest times. I fully expect the homesickness to set in during holidays or when I'm missing something that the entire family is gathering for or when I'm frustrated. But sometimes it just sneaks up and catches me off-guard.

Last night we took the kids to a fall festival around here and we were behind a young family on the way out. The mom turned out and said, "We'll see you at our house."

Bam. There it was. That feeling in my stomach that just aches. Just hearing those words caused me to realize all we've left behind. We don't have a house anymore to invite people to. We aren't close enough to our family to have them over and our good friends are far away as well. Most of the time, I'm at ease. I'm comfortable with our decisions and I'm confident that God has brought us down this exact path. But every once in a while, it just grabs you.

Do you have any strategies for dealing with homesickness?

The Farm

Before we moved from South Carolina, we wanted to make one more trip down to Jonathan's grandparents' farm. It was the twins first visit to the farm and they really enjoyed all the tractors and trucks.

Fall

We are trying to enjoy our last fall for a while. The colors are beautiful, the mornings crisp and the air clean.

Jumping Back In

Its time to jump back in the blogging world. I've missed it. Yet life has not lended itself to blogging over the past 2 years. I can't imagine why. But we are hoping that this blog would be a great way to communicate with those we love and also an opportunity for me to record life as it happens for our family. A way to remember those things that we so quickly forget if we don't have a written memory. And I love to journal and often God speaks to me as I write about what has already happened so hopefully this will be a tool for that as well.

So As We Go, we'll try to bring you along with us.
